If you have a lot of images in a folder that are not properly named i.e. 123-1223 etc. and you want to rename all the images at once. Then go to the fly out menu and choose Batch Rename, make sure you haven’t selected any image in the file browser. The following picture shows how to do so.

What it will do is bring up the batch rename dialog box. As shown below.

Now ‘Rename in same folder’ Radio button is selected. this means it will rename the files in same folder. You can also choose a different folder. It will then rename and copy the files to the new folder, and will not modify the names of your current folder. but i am going to choose ‘Rename in same folder’.
In the first textbox where it says Document name. type the name of file. I will type ‘flowers’. and for the extension click the button at the end of the textbox. As shown below.

Now you can give serial numbers or you can give letters or any which you like. You can have up to 4 digit serial number. I will select ‘2 Digital Serial Number’. because I have 7 images in the folder, if you have more than 9 then choose ‘2 Digital Serial Number’ if more than 99 then ‘3 Digital Serial Number’. That’s how it works. Now you will see some thing under the label ‘File naming’ . You will see an example file as shown below.

This is the example file, This shows how actually our files will look like. Now in the third textbox select ‘EXTENSION’ or ‘extension’. Now click ok. You will get similar the following.
