One more thing we have with history palette is called Snapshot, and I automatically got the Snapshot of my document when I made it, and the snapshot was new, its at the Top of the list as highlighted below.

We have the ability to get to it by click on the round button on top right corner of the history palette and then ‘History Options’ as shown below.

his will open a dialog box as shown below.

Note that ‘Automatically Create First Snapshot’ is checked in the dialog box, so when you open a document or make a new document, its going to create a first snapshot.
Then I have at the bottom ‘Show New Snapshot Dialog by Default’, so the Snapshot is shown in the history list by default and that’s important. We can also create a new Snapshot when saving by checking ‘Automatically Create New Snapshot When Saving’ in the dialog box as shown above. I am going to keep them as default, click ok.
Now lets see how to create a new snapshot ourselves. Click on any history stage in the history palette. I chose the last one as shown below.

Now click on the ‘Create New snapshot’ button on the bottom of the History palette, as highlighted below.

Clicking on it will make a new snapshot and will add it to the top of the history list as shown below.

Notice the new snapshot named Snapshot 1 in the above Picture.
While working its a quick way to get back to where we were at certain points. But NOTE that when you close your document you will lose all your snapshots and History stages.
