Pros: The Best Drive for an excellent Deal for your $$$. This is again the extremely quiet, super fast and the most dependable drive.. had been using drives from WD for last 8 years which works 24 hours running still. And sold by the best favorite online “NEWEGG”.

Cons: May be there is a little faster drive out there.. I don’t think there is any super quiet acoustics and reliable drive like WD is…

WD is back. They had slipped a bit recently. However, this drive is so much better than my Hitachi I have in my desktop, it runs about 10deg Celsius cooler, and is much quieter. I also recently replaced my laptop drive with WD, and it is incredible as well.

I must note that I own the KS model, not the AAKS, but it seems the AAKS replaced the KS and Id guess they are pretty similar so I figured Id still write this. A very good hard drive, very quiet (I can hardly hear it seek) & quite fast too, also runs pretty cool (but it is actively cooled). I installed this drive as the boot drive in a secondary PC and I was amazed to see it performs just as good as my main PCs 74GB raptor, I guess it could be because the raptor has a couple years on it, but still highly impressive IMO.

This is a good hard drive for the money. Western Digital has always come through with their products. I recently bought this hard drive because I encounered a head crash on my older 120 GB. Overall a very good product.

The ~320GB size seems to be the sweet spot for large enough size without really high prices. The 400GB to 750GB sizes are just too expensive right now. The drive seems pretty fast, but I haven’t done any benchmarking against an PATA drive.
