MBT - I have a ruptured disk and stenosis at my L3 vertebrae. When I walk or stand in any shoes, my left leg goes numb. MBT’s are the only modality I have found for relief. I have tried Asics Kayano’s for cushioning, Earth shoes for the effect of a negative heel, but no other shoe, massage, acupuncture, or medication has affected such a positive change. Although they are overpriced, I cannot deny being free from pain. I am very fit so my body did not suffer any break in period but the shoes really “take off” after about 10 hours of break in. There is no arch support but that is integral to muscle recruitment rather than joint stress. I highly recommend MBT’s to anyone who has back pain, would like to improve their posture, and their waling efficiency. Too bad they are so ugly; yet it is more than offset by the relief.

The first time I wore my MBT for about 4 hrs and felt a bit unsteady and notice a slight discomfort to the shoes lace area on both feet. The next day I wore them again this time I was able to wear them for about 8 hrs and then my feet felt heavy. The followings days I increased the hours and now I can wear them without any discomfort. Now I look forward to wearing them all time. I can really tell the difference when I wear my Asics…they feel like low riders and my right heel starts to hurt. I presently suffer from planter fasciitis and my MBT have taken my pain away. I highly recommend MBT especially if you suffer from planter fasciitis.

Relief! I have had some foot problems (plantar fasciitis) and have wide feet. I have been wearing the expensive New Balance running shoes to work in (on my feet most of the day) and they do OK for a while. I usually have to change shoes before the day is over to relieve pain. I bought the MBT’s and I no longer have to change during the day, and my feet no longer hurt at night or when I get up in the mornings. They help keep my calves stretched (the primary cause of plantar fasciitis is tight calf muscles) and my feet don’t hurt! I will be wearing these from now on; hopefully I will be able to wear any shoes because the problem is going away with these. Highly recommended! And of course from Zappos, the best shoe store online.

Amazing shoes - worth every penny - My sister owns two pairs of MBT and recommended these to me. I had my doubts but I’m really convinced that these are worth the money. My feet are flat and they get tired or sore after I walk an hour or so no matter how comfortable the shoes I’m wearing are. I haven’t had any pain whatsoever since I’ve worn these shoes. I walk 2-5 miles a day. I look forward to wearing these shoes every morning. I haven’t put any other shoes on since I got these MBT shoes. My legs and butt feel tight and muscular after I walk in these shoes and my feet are not sore. What more can I ask? I highly recommend these.

MBT Sport Low, Women’s 9.5 - I was nervous about getting this shoe because of 1) the price and 2) the elaborate “breaking in” instructions. I waited and researched for more than a year before finding this style and price at Zappos: The 365-day money-back guarantee convinced me it was time to “take the first step.” I’m glad I did! I’ve been wearing the shoes every day for 17 days now and find them very comfortable. I was cautious at first about wearing them too long, but after the second day I started wearing them all day to work and ’til 9:00pm at home with no ill effects. I definitely feel my calf, thigh and butt muscles working while I’m walking and even just standing. Can’t really tell if I’m getting any more toned, but my daughters seem to think so. We’ll see. I think they look nice but clunky, but several people have complimented me on their appearance, so go figure!

A Surprising Shoe! I saw the MBT in a shoe store and it looked so unusual that I was intrigued. I read the reviews on Zappos and decided to at least try a pair at home to see what they were like. They are different from any shoe I have ever worn! But I LOVE them! It took me about an hour of wearing them around the house to feel comfortable with the “rocker design” but now I find I crave them! If I’m feeling achy or tired I go in and put them on and I immediately feel better. My posture has improved and it is truly like walking on a cloud! These are amazing shoes!! I ordered my normal street shoe size and they fit fine although if I wear thin socks I do have to cinch them tighter. They are so comfortable, truly well made and, while I thought I would never pay this price for a shoe — I think they’re worth it! Thanks to Zappos, too, for the wonderful service and the chance to try these shoes in the comfort of my own home!

  7. Bonnie Says:

After seeing these sneakers repeatedly over the last few years, I finally broke down and bought a pair. I felt so guilty about paying that much for sneakers, but I have to say, they are worth every penny. I have flat feet and have suffered from plantar fasciitis and these sneakers have great support and make my feet feel wonderful. I walk in them and wear them most of the time at home. The rolling action takes a couple of days to get used to, but after that you don’t even notice it. I am already thinking about my next pair!

  8. Pamela Says:

A Great Investment - I have plantar fasciitis and since I bought these shoes it has cleared up. The rolling motion when walking in these shoes strengthens muscles as advertised and stretches out the calf and Achilles as necessary to relieve the pain associated with this condition. I have two pair and use them every morning for walking and am able to teach cardio dance without any pain. These shoes are expensive but well worth the price.

  9. Diana Says:

Love these shoes! I bought these shoes after reading many reviews. If you are going to spend $245 on a pair of shoes, they better be great. When I first got them, I was not in love with them. They seemed a bit snug and were just weird to walk in. After wearing them a week or two and finding the correct socks, they felt perfect and were comfortable. What is amazing to me is the change in my legs. I had an ACL and meniscus tear in my right knee and had surgery three years ago. I have not been able to run since then and spent a year in physical therapy (I am also a physical therapist). I am actually now able to run again! I have done no other exercise except wear these shoes for walking my dogs and for work. The change in the musculature in my legs is amazing. My husband also noticed the muscles in my legs returning. I love them and would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to regain shape and muscles in their bottom half.

  10. Jen Says:

I didn’t buy my MBT’s because of pain; I bought them because of the supposed fitness benefits that are gained by wearing the shoes. Immediately I noticed 100% improvement in posture. I have had my shoes for a little over a week now and find that I have more energy and overall feel better than I did before I got my MBT’s. I notice myself standing properly and holding in my abdominal muscles even when barefoot or wearing other shoes. I was professionally measured by a local MBT salesperson and much to my surprise purchased a half size larger than I usually buy. Disappointed that I will not be able to wear these this winter as they come with a warning about not wearing them on salted surfaces and in Illinois we use a lot of salt in the winter. Other than that, no complaints.

Oh my gosh! MBTs are so comfy and an awesome mechanical shoe for intense walkers and those with feet problems. I just got mine Friday and my knee stopped hurting the next day! Seriously! Try a pair! You will not be disappointed. When it comes to your footwear, of course style is crucial but comfort and being pain free is also vital!

  12. Martin Says:

I am suffering since over a year from fasciitis plantaris, and no Dr. could help me. My feet felt weak and did terribly hurt in the morning or if not used for a while. But since I wear MBT I can sense constant approvement. They are not painfree yet but I am sure I am getting there very soon. I think it is not only the stretching of calf and achilles but as well you feel how much better your blood circulation is in the foot, so that regeneration from things like fasciitis will be facilitated. Definitely I will get mor pairs, just to ensure that I can wear them exclusively.
